Minneapolis, MN–We’re pleased to introduce Momo Sushi, the newest addition to Northeast Minneapolis’ expanding restaurant scene. Open since late December and located on Central Avenue in the former Bonicelli Kitchen space, Momo offers a unique combination of Tibetan and Japanese fare. The restaurant’s cozy dining room, artfully crafted dishes, friendly staff, and affordable prices have already gained it a loyal following in the neighborhood and beyond.
Owned and operated by Chef Sonam Nyorie, a Tibetan immigrant who came to the US in 2010, Momo honors the cuisine of his homeland, while also drawing on his skills as a sushi chef — a craft he’s developed working in multiple sushi restaurants on the east coast and in the Twin Cities. Sonam started his entrepreneurial journey with popular food truck, Volcano Hibachi, which he describes as a great learning experience and a stepping stone to his dream of restaurant ownership. With the goal of providing delicious, healthy food within a happy, inviting environment, Chef Sonam is excited to welcome everyone to Momo Sushi.
